LASER TATTOO REMOVAL

When your skin is tattooed, ink is injected deep into the dermis (the lower levels of the skin). The particles making up the ink are quite large, so once they have been injected they cannot be broken down by your body easily and are effectively permanent. This means it is very difficult to remove tattoos without causing trauma to the surrounding tissue.

At Weston Beauty Clinic we use a range of advanced Q-switched lasers to deliver the safest and most effective technique to remove your unwanted tattoo.

Our advanced Q-Switched Lasers produce extremely short pulses of high energy light, which are absorbed by the ink particles in your tattoo, causing them to break down into tiny fragments. The minute particles of tattoo ink are then disposed of naturally by the body’s own immune system, resulting in less tattoo pigment and gradual disappearance. For this reason multiple treatments will be needed, and these can be done every four to six weeks.

In more sensitive areas, Laser Tattoo Removal is described as feeling like the flick of an elastic band. The slight stinging sensation can be eased by applying a local anaesthetic cream. You many experience some redness in the area following treatment, but it quickly subsides.

SURGICAL EXCISIONS

Sometimes a certain ink colour will prove more resistant to laser treatment. Equally, a client may decide in consultation with their doctor that if the tattoo is small, and in a relatively fleshy location (such as the top of the arm) that surgical excision could work better than multiple treatments of laser.
